Honestly? I can see why they’d think that because I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve booked a flight to sunny California, and my phone always ends up being embarrassingly full. But with so many incredible Instagrammable places in Los Angeles, leaving without taking pics feels illegal!

My Favorite Instagrammable Places in Los Angeles After 10+ Visits

To say I’m obsessed with LA is an understatement.

It’s an easy three-hour flight from Vancouver. The weather is always perfect. You’re close to pristine beaches and sun-soaked hiking trails, yet can still black out on overpriced cocktails on a night out. Every corner is so ridiculously photogenic that it feels like you’re walking in a real-life Hollywood movie.

If you enjoy taking pictures like me (or posing for one because it’s 2026 and we’re all somewhat narcissistic), here are my absolute favorite Los Angeles Instagram spots to add to your weekend itinerary.

Iconic Landmarks & Attractions

1. Griffith Observatory

I remember visiting for the very first time in 2015 and how seeing the glittering Downtown skyline made me want to move to LA. (Yes, 20-something-year-old me was a hopeless romantic who thought I was living in an early-2000s rom-com.)

Fast forward ten years later, Griffith Observatory still remains the one place I keep coming back to… no matter how much of a nightmare the parking is.

And on that note, yes, parking is a disaster here. (As with most of LA.)

I paid $10 USD per hour on my most recent visit in May 2022. If you plan on staying long or tackling a hiking trail here, I’d park near the bottom then walk up. Or if you’re a sedentary couch potato like me, you can take an Uber and get dropped off at the top.

2. Hollywood Sign

Okay, did you really go to LA if you didn’t snap at least one picture with the Hollywood Sign?

Even though this legendary icon is visible from Griffith Observatory, I recommend getting up close and personal.

Tip: You can hike directly to the back of sign or take a helicopter tour.

Lake Hollywood Park at 3000 Canyon Lake Drive (above left) offers a fantastic vantage point. It’s a small neighborhood park where locals walk their dogs and relax over weekend picnics with family. Free street parking is available, but it fills up quickly. I’d go early for the best light and to avoid crowds. (Le boyfie and I visited in 2023 on Sunday around 4:30 PM and had to loop around a few times.)

Now if you want that quintessential palm tree vibe, my photo on the right was taken on South Windsor Boulevard between 4th and 5th Streets. I’m iffy about sharing residential locations because someone’s home isn’t your personal playground. However, this one isn’t exactly a secret. (And I’d rather you hear it from me, with respect for those who live here, than from someone else who shares the location without any context.) Do remember to be mindful of your surroundings, and stay alert when taking pictures on active roads!

3. Santa Monica Pier

This oceanfront landmark is home to the city’s beloved amusement park, Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier, and one of the best photo spots in Los Angeles for portrait photography.

For someone who says she fancies LA, it’s kinda ironic that I still haven’t ridden the viral Ferris wheel here. (In my defense, I have a tiny grandma living inside me who believes even the tamest amusement park rides are already too risky for public health.)

4. Beverly Hills Sign

Celebrity homes, upscale shopping, elegant rose gardens… Beverly Hills is nothing short of LA Instagram spots.

Before you shop ’til you drop, stop by the Beverly Hills Sign at The Lily Pond. Just don’t go in the afternoon like me, because the lighting was so harsh that I couldn’t open my eyes at all. (Early mornings tend to have a softer glow.) But regardless of when you visit, crowd levels aren’t too bad. If anything, it’s an easy fix in Photoshop.

5. Rodeo Drive

You know what they say! Shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist 😉

From the Beverly Hills Sign, walk over to Rodeo Drive. Not only are the designer stores and high-end boutiques here a feast for the eyes, the European-inspired facade and lamp posts make for a stylish OOTD backdrop.

Like most tourists, I only shot from the corner of Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way and called it a day. It wasn’t until a later trip that I walked all three blocks and realized that the Rodeo Drive Steps and fountain by Tiffany & Co are every bit as picturesque.

6. Venice Canal Historic District

Can’t make it to Europe? LA’s version of Venice will make you feel like you’ve been teleported to Italy.

These man-made canals were built in 1905 by Abbott Kinney as part of his Venice of America project. I came here on my own in 2018 and throughly appreciated how idyllic this neighborhood felt.

Word of advice? Ask your Uber driver to drop you off either on the South Venice Boulevard end of Dell Avenue or on the 28th Avenue end. (I keyed in “Venice Canal Historic District,” and my driver was confused about where I wanted to go.) If you have a car, there is (paid) street parking along Pacific Avenue and Washington Boulevard.

The entire area is very walkable, and golden hour is breathtaking. Reminder again to keep noise to a minimum and be mindful of your surroundings. People do live here after all!

If You Love Art

7. Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

You can’t post an LA dump without a shot of LACMA’s outdoor Urban Light installation. (Granted, I obviously had a little too much fun in Photoshop with the picture on the right. Anyone who’s dabbled in photography has gone through a slightly questionable composite phase. We’re not gonna talk about that.)

The lamps illuminate every day at dusk. If you don’t want to split your visit and come multiple times like I did, aim to arrive at least an hour or two before sunset. There are wonderful exhibits inside as well. You can take a couple of daytime pics, tour the interior, then come back out for nighttime shots.

8. The Broad

I remember telling my LA friends that I really enjoyed The Broad (“brawd”), and no one knew what I was talking about. Turns out, it’s actually pronounced like “bro” with a “de” at the end. (Think “road.”)

Embarrassing moment aside, this is one of my favorite Instagrammable places in Los Angeles.

This free contemporary art museum features up to 2,000 works by more than 200 artists—including Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Jeff Koons, and Barbara Kruger, to name just a few. And for diehard Yayoi Kusama fans, you’ll be delighted to hear that her renowned Infinity Mirror Rooms are permanent collections here.

The original Infinity Mirrored Room – The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away (above) has been on display since 2014. Longing for Eternity was introduced later in December 2017.

I didn’t know this when I went, but reservations are required to see The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away. I suggest finding an iPad kiosk* in the lobby and putting your name down as soon as you arrive before looking at any other exhibits.

*Same-day walk-up tickets aren’t always available. I’d confirm in advance. It’s generally best to book online for guaranteed entry. Tickets are released on the last Wednesday of each month at 10:00 AM PST.

9. The Paul Smith Pink Wall

Some call this basic. I call it the epitome of LA Instagram culture.

The infamous Paul Smith Pink Wall gets mixed reviews. You either hate it or love it, because, well, it quite literally is just a giant pink wall.

2026 Update: The nearby “Made in LA” mural on 8025 Melrose Avenue that I previously featured in this Los Angeles photo spots guide is no longer there.

My girlfriend and I made it a must-see stop on our road trip back in 2017. I remember us laughing after getting in trouble with the security guard for using a DSLR camera. And how we kept running back and forth and jumping mid-air to create content that we thought was going to break the Internet. Just silly moments and girly things. Sometimes, somehow, the pictures you take just for the gram end up being the ones you treasure the most.

10. Getty Center

J. Paul Getty Museum, or The Getty, is an art museum with two locations: the Getty Center and the Getty Villa Museum.

The former (Getty Center; above) is the larger of the two, with emphasis on artworks from the 8th to the 21st century. I’d say it’s one of the more architecturally striking photography spots in LA for if you’re into urban photography. (I did see @thenavarose and @davidsuhphoto doing a shoot here in front of the fountain. To be fair, any corner can be a fashion backdrop with the right styling.)

11. Getty Villa Museum

Getty Villa Museum, on the other hand, focuses primarily on Greek and Roman antiquities.

While the Getty Center was designed by Richard Meier and has a more modern design, the Getty Villa is modeled after the Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum, Italy. Very old-money aesthetic. Veryy Mediterranean getaway vibes. Veryyy cute for Insta pics.

FYI the two museums are about a half-an-hour drive apart. Don’t mix up your Uber pins/driving directions, and regardless of which you choose to see, both are equally beautiful.

12. Petersen Automotive Museum

Petersen Automotive Museum’s stainless steel ribbon facade can best be described as “The Car meets the Space Age.” If you’re passionate about urban photography, this is one of the best places to take pictures in LA.

From vintage Porsche 911s and Corvette Racing championship vehicles to blockbuster movie cars like the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future, this museum is a dream paradise for car enthusiasts and photography lovers alike.

I took le boyfie here and we had such a blast. We spent way more time than expected. In fact, there’s even a separate section called the Vault that we didn’t have time for. (It displays 250+ additional vehicles and an extra fee applies. Regular admission to the three floors will be enough to keep you busy for an afternoon.)

13. World of Illusions Los Angeles

World of Illusions offers an interactive experience featuring 3D illusions inspired by art, cartoons, current events, and movies.

I know it seems like one of those quick snap-and-go type Instagrammable places in LA that probably doesn’t feel worth paying for. But let me tell you… Each concept is so detailed that everything feels oddly real. I went with my LA friend, and we both shared so many giggles. It’s such a cool place to take pictures in LA and definitely a fun one for families.

14. California Dreaming at Chinese Laundry

Grab your solemate for a fun photo shoot at this colorful typography mural after a long day of shoe shopping at Chinese Laundry. (Lol get it? Sole-mate? Soulmate? Okay I’ll show myself out.)

Unfortunately, I had no luck shooting here because of parked cars. The mural is at the back of the Chinese Laundry headquarters in the parking lot. That said, I’d come between Saturday and Monday when they’re closed, or before they open at 11:00 AM.

2026 Update: The rainbow hearts at Micheltorena Stairs have faded and are gone for the foreseeable future. Carla O’Brien has clarified on Reddit that she and her friend, Mandon Bossi, who designed the mural, have stopped repainting the steps due to constant graffiti and because repainting them took away the original concept people loved so much. Sometimes we can’t have nice things 🥲

Aesthetic Shops

15. The Last Bookstore

Being California’s largest used (and new) bookstore, you can expect to find some pretty nifty stuff here for cheap. (I came with Papa Chen and we wanted to take their entire art section home!)

This Downtown LA photo spot is especially well-known for its unique book tunnel.

I saw plenty of other people taking pictures too and the staff were all pre chill. (At least they were when I went.) They sell local art as well, and it’s worth picking up something small to support them if you’re taking pictures here.

16. Beverly Hills Newsstand

Newsstands seem to be a thing of the past, but Allan Brooks is keeping the tradition alive with this Beverly Hills shop.

I had the pleasure of meeting Al (Allan) himself, and I’ve never met anyone who radiates as much joy as he does.

He was totally fine with me taking pictures without buying anything—though I obviously ended up making a purchase anyway. Not only did I walk away with new content for my Instagram page, I also got sudoku puzzles to solve for those “why is this taking so long” doctor visits.

17. ROW DTLA

ROW DTLA is a commercial hub in DTLA for independent retailers, restaurants, and creative offices.

The rooftop parking lot is where everyone goes to capture photos of the Los Angeles skyline, and it’s popular for engagement sessions—for good reason! (Think Griffith Observatory views, but with bigger buildings and a more zoomed-in telephoto lens feel.)

Sadly, the lot was closed for a private event when I went. I’d keep an eye on their website for updates. If anything, parking is free for the first two hours. And you can still explore the photo ops on the ground floor.

18. The Grove

This trendy shopping destination always has some kinda pop-up going on, and it’s one of the best photo spots in LA during the holidays.

There are tons of charming cafes here too like % Arabica and La La Land. Ideal for running errands in the AM, and I’d come on a weekday if you can. I always end up here at the wrong time during peak hours and get distracted shopping instead of actually getting the content I need to show you what makes this so Instagrammable!

Cute Los Angeles Cafes

19. Carrera Cafe

Located in the heart of West Hollywood, Carrera Cafe is a European-style cafe known for its unique latte art.

You can choose from popular Ripple designs or upload your own latte art picture.

For a busy cafe on a major street, the drinks themselves aren’t crazy expensive, but it does add up when you order the Ripple add-on. (As a Canadian, everything in USD costs an arm and a leg—and a kidney—to me 😭😂)

Oh! They also have a mural that changes periodically! They were painted white and in the process of getting repainted when I went in 2022. You can check their Instagram first to see what they have on display.

20. Great White

Call me a basic b, but Great White is my go-to brunch restaurant in the city.

They have multiple locations (Melrose pictured below), all of which are highly photogenic. Chic and yummy? Say less.

I’d maybe take the gals here because boys, for the love of God, do not understand the concept of brunch. (Le boyfie was beyond baffled that I pay $$$ to eat nicely-plated food. I can’t get enough of their bowls and Smoked Salmon Pizza, and think they’re finger-licking good, even if simple and “nothing that special!”)

21. Malibu Farm Pier Cafe

This busy breakfast-and-lunch cafe with oceanside patio seating serves fresh, farm-to-table food and jaw-dropping views of the Pacific Ocean.

Tip: Make a pit stop at Ranch At The Pier. They sell all kinds of beach gear and accessories, and sometimes have the most adorable pop-up decor.

I cannot with the traffic going to and from Malibu, but trust me when I say their steak salad is totally worth traveling the extra mile for! Omg and their baby pancakes??? Sooooo good! I’m over here drooling all my laptop while editing this post and contemplating whether I should book another trip back!

22. Castaway Burbank

I found out about Castaway on a recent Burbank trip, and where do I even begin…

From their steak-forward menu and specialty cocktails to sweeping views of the valley, everything was a 10/10 for le boyfie and me on our sunset dinner date.

One thing I must mention is their tiered, multi-level outdoor seating. (I didn’t realize this until a few drinks in and thought I was tipsy and hallucinating things.) You get unobstructed views wherever you are that you don’t even have to specify a seat in your reservation requests. (Yes, make a reso in advance. Sunset bookings fill up fast!)

23. The Ivy & Ivy at the Shore

Ivy is one of LA’s most iconic celebrity hotspots and a staple of the LA dining scene.

I dined at Ivy at the Shore (below) with my very first big girl paycheck and, to this day, I remember exactly how the Oven Roasted Sea Bass swam across my palate like a buttery symphony. It was delicately rich and divine from start to finish. And the cherry on top? I saw Alessandra Ambrosio. Or, well, my friend spotted her, because I am blind and acutely oblivious to these things. Either way, you know it’s A-list approved!

Imo, The Ivy is more aesthetic. Any seat you get is a visual treat, whereas Ivy at the Shore only shines on the patio. (I’d ask for corner seats by the greenery. As opposed to the middle aisle situation thing I got going on above.)

24. South Palm Drive

Nothing screams “I’m in California” like a picture with palm trees.

South Palm Drive spans across four blocks. My photos were taken at the intersection of Gregory Way. You can set Google Maps to S Palm Dr & Gregory Way.

Le boyfie specifically requested that we rent a Miata for our trip and it was the best idea ever. I remember us taking pictures of it when a macho man hopped out of his black Mustang and asked me to take a picture for him too. Defs an obligatory tourist must-do!

Friendly reminder that this is a residential area. I didn’t have any problems shooting here, but remember to be respectful and keep noise to a minimum. (There are honestly so many palm-tree lined streets in Beverly Hills. You’ll probably drive by a few, so there’s no need to come to this exact Los Angeles photography spot.)

25. Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood

Step behind the scenes at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood for an insider look at movie-making magic.

I had the pleasure of working with Visit Burbank, and they were kind enough to arrange tickets for me. Despite frequenting Los Angeles (and knowing about the obvious, major film industry presence), I had no idea this even existed!

It was incredibly fascinating learning about how films and TV shows are made and seeing the various costumes, set designs, and props in person. If you’re a fan of Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Harry Potter, or DC Comics, add this to your things to do!

26. Universal Studios Hollywood

Touring movie sets is fun, but if you’re more of an adrenaline junkie, head to Universal Studios for thrilling rides and action-packed adventures.

This was another activity that Visit Burbank had arranged for me. (Like I said earlier, I’m a grandma who does not like it when my heart rate spikes.) I was dreading coming here, but this turned out to be one of biggest the highlights on my trip.

I went on every single ride. Drank Butterbeer. Did the full Studio Tour experience… I loved every minute of it! Only thing I regret is not bringing my own Harry Potter robe and magic wand. I saw so many people all dressed up taking pictures at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and I can’t believe I didn’t think to do that.

27. Greystone Mansion

A.k.a. the Doheny Mansion, Greystone Mansion is a well-known film location for movies like Spider-Man, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, X-Men, Batman & Robin, Spider-Man 3, The Holiday, Rush Hour, and Ghosbusters II. It is also one of the most romantic wedding photography spots in Los Angeles—which I’m sure you can see why.

The garden is free to enter, but to see the mansion, you will have to purchase tickets.

I did see signs in the park saying no photography, but a park ranger confirmed that it simply means no photoshoots. As long as you’re not rocking a massive telephoto lens or changing into five outfits, you’re good. (For engagement photos, wedding photos, family portraits, and any commemorative or posed photography, a permit + reservation are required.)

28. Beverly Hills City Hall & Civic Center

The City Hall (left) and Civic Center (right) are two other popular wedding photoshoot locations in Los Angeles

You can shoot from the entrance of City Hall on North Crescent Drive and at the Civic Center fountain along North Rexford Drive, where the Tiffany blue Spanish Renaissance facades makes for a striking backdrop. And don’t come in the afternoon!!!!! (Especially City Hall!) The harsh midday light of death made my photos completely unsalvageable.

🕗 Best Time to Go: Early morning (before 9:00 AM) for softer light or at golden hour for that cinematic glow.

29. Elysian Park

Thanks to its winding roads and sweeping city views, you’ll often see cars staged along the hills of Elysian Park.

In hindsight, le boyfie and I should’ve taken our baby Miata here. (It was our first time visiting and we didn’t know what traffic would be like.) Definitely not as busy as we imagined, but I’d come at sunrise if you want to be safe.

Places I’d Skip

The City of Angels has no shortage of photo ops. But not all of them can be considered the “best places to take pictures in Los Angeles.”

I published this post in 2018, and after spending the past ~decade refining this guide, researching new places, and seeing which viral photography trends are actually worth the hype, here are a few locations I’d personally skip. Although you might feel differently! So I’m gonna include them anyway.

30. Catch

Catch is basically where all the Instagram girlies go to confirm they were, in fact, in Los Angeles.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here in 2017 and to be frank, I remember nothing about the food here. Which says a lot about how memorable (or unmemorable) the dining experience was. That’s my sole opinion. We all have different tastes. They have glowing Google reviews and who knows! You might like the food!

31. Bradbury Building

Made famous by its skylit Victorian atrium and intricate ironwork, this five-story office building is the city’s oldest landmark.

Upon visiting, I was very disappointed to find out that cameras are not allowed here. Yes, phones take amazing pictures nowadays, but it’s not the same as holding a camera and pressing a shutter button when you notice that perfect ray of light or a fleeting moment worth capturing.

If you’re a history buff or architecture enthusiast, go for it. Otherwise, parking is a headache and it’s not worth the detour imo.

🅿️ Parking: All the nearby parkades have trash reviews. I think we did (paid) street parking several blocks away.

32. Athena Parking

This is one of the more “hidden” Downtown LA photo spots that locals go to shoot the viral “Jesus Saves” sign.

I say hidden because to reach the spot, you need to get to the top of Athena Parking, head towards the outdoor parking section, then climb onto a ladder.

When I went, I saw signs everywhere saying no trespassing (for the outdoor parking). There were cameras everywhere too, so I chickened out. The garage itself is still easily accessible though if you like that grungy look. (Smelled like piss and very ill-maintained. Not a top pick for me. AND I WOULD NOT GO ALONE!!!!!)

33. Venice Sign

Venice is an eclectic neighborhood with a beautiful beach, historic canals (#6 above), and an oceanfront boardwalk.

The Venice Sign has its very own Instagram page and has clearly developed a cult following online.

The reason I’m including this here is because I visited on a solo trip. I didn’t have anyone to take pictures for me, and I quickly realized there was no way for me to set up my tripod, run into the middle of the street under the sign, and not risk either my camera getting stolen or myself getting hit by cars.

34. Hollywood Walk of Fame

The world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame showcases 2,500+ brass stars of actors, directors, musicians, and more. While it’s tough to catch a celebrity in person, their Walk of Fame star is always camera-ready.

The walk expands over several blocks, with the most famous stars clustered around the TCL Chinese Theatre.

There are lots of celebrity impersonators/performers here. Some are quite aggressive when trying to get you to take pictures with them, and one went as far as following me for a few minutes to ask me out. (Typical Tuesday for us gals 🥲)

If there isn’t a particular celebrity you want photos with, I’d skip this. It’s quite literally just a bucket list item that you check purely for the sake of saying you did it.

35. Angels Flight Railway

You might recognize this from La La Land.

It was so crowded when I went that I gave up riding the funicular all together and simply snapped a photo on the side.

If you can wake up early, rides start at 6:45 AM, which is pre much your only window for decent photos. (I exaggerate. Maybe before 9:00 AM.)

36. Dashew Center at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

I found out about this place when I looked up “places to take pictures in Los Angeles” on RedNote. It was trending for awhile and all the stylish, Chinese international students did mini photoshoots here.

When I got there, I… did not see the appeal. I’m sorry, idk! It’s not ugly per se, but there are so many other unique corners on campus. 2/10 would recommend.

📍 Address: 417 Charles E Young Drive West #106, Los Angeles.
🅿️ Parking: I believe UCLA Structure 8 Guest Parking is the closest. (Le boyfie and I drove around in circles looking. We ended up parking somewhere far away and side quested so hard we got In-N-Out.)

37. Hollywood Bowl Overlook

Short for Jerome C. Daniel Overlook, this scenic overlook is located above Hollywood Bowl.

You can see the entire LA skyline on a clear day and it’s a prime location for night photography.

Whenever I’ve attempted to come here, it’s been closed for construction. If you want to try your luck, remember to bring a tripod for some light trail shots.

38. Avva Coffee

From crystal chandeliers to suede booths, this European-style cafe is pure elegance.

I’d stumble upon it while looking up LA cafes. Reviews for their coffee seems to be mixed, but food is subjective! It’s on my list for when I revisit and I’ll report back with an update.

39. Pantry West Hollywood

If you’re into streetwear, you might be familiar with the brand, Madhappy.

Their West Hollywood location has a minimalist cafe in the back called PANTRY, and adds a nice pop of color to your feed.

Their reviews look very promising, and it’s on my LA bucket list. I shall go conduct my own “research” and come back with a full thesis 🤭

40. CENTO Raw Bar

CENTO Raw Bar is CENTO Pasta Bar’s sister restaurant that opened in spring of 2025.

As its name suggests, they’re heavily focused on seafood and elevated coastal cuisine. The pastel, ocean-inspired, nautical interior makes you feel like a mermaid princess, and I can’t wait to visit the next time I’m in LA!

41. Meteora

Step into Tulum at this one-star Michelin restaurant.

Meteora, by Chef Jordan Kahn, showcases contemporary Californian cuisine through live-fire cooking and sustainably sourced ingredients.

I’ve heard amazing things about their tasting menu, but have yet to sacrifice my wallet in the name of journalism. Further scientific testing is required, and detailed update will follow once I do.

42. Apotheke Los Angeles

Apotheke LA was named one of the best bars of the year by Interior Design Magazine and it even won a German Design Award for its interior. Needless to say, it’s an Instagram gem that I’m for sure checking out on my next date night in the city.

43. Mírate

This Mexican restaurant and bar is known to have an extensive collection of agave spirits and a private barrel Oaxacan rum.

When I was revising this list a year or two ago, they were ranked #12 on North America’s 50 Best Bars list. As of 2026, they are #28. But even with the ranking shift, the buzz around this place hasn’t faded.

Even though I’m not crazy about mezcal myself, the rum has my name written all over it, and the ambiance alone is enough reason to see what the hype is about.

44. Bar Next Door

Located in the old office of Marilyn Monroe’s talent agent, Bar Next Door is a neighborhood cocktail bar on the Sunset Strip.

Besides classics like Aperol spritz and espresso martini, they shake up unique drinks named after LA’s very own landmarks.

45. The Beverly Hills Hotel

Known as the original Pink Palace, The Beverly Hills Hotel has been a celebrity favorite for over 110 years.

From its legendary green wall sign and colorful palm leaf wallpapers to the chic poolside Cabana Cafe (left) and glamorous Polo Lounge (right), this is hands down one of the most Instagrammable places in Los Angeles.

46. The Maybourne Beverly Hills

Not a fan of loud pinks and greens at Beverly Hills Hotel? Treat yourself to a mini staycation at The Maybourne instead.

Located one block away from Rodeo Drive, The Maybourne is a world-class Beverly Hills hotel that has received the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star distinction two years in a row since 2025.

Even if you’re not staying here, it’s still worth dropping by for rooftop drinks at Dante (left) or weekend brunch at The Terrace (right).

47. Santa Monica Proper Hotel

It’s been a dream of mine to stay at a Proper Hotel, but I still haven’t had the chance.

The Santa Monica Proper is Santa Monica’s first and only luxury lifestyle hotel. It has won numerous awards, including being named the “#1 City Hotel in Los Angeles” by Travel + Leisure and one of the “Best Hotels in the USA” by Fodor’s Travel.

Its rooms and suites were designed by Kelly Weastler to reflect local history and landscape. With one-of-a-kind interiors, you’re bound to snap a million pictures here.

Of course, you don’t have to be a hotel guest to visit. If you already booked your hotel, you can opt to dine at Palma (above) for some IG-worthy shots.

48. Cara Hotel

If you’re building a white, minimalist feed, a night at Cara or brunch at Cara Restaurant (below) is a must.

I’d come to know about them from researching where to stay in LA when le boyfie and I were thinking of doing a spontaneous weekend getaway. We never did end up going, but I’ve already bookmarked it for next time!

49. The Valorian Los Angeles

Previously known as Mondrian, The Valorian has undergone a $19 million renovation since I last dined at its rooftop restaurant. (It is now managed by Hilton.)

I’m not particularly fond of the new design, but the little egg shell balcony chairs are cute. Pair that with epic skyline views and you got the dreamiest #vacationgram.

They did keep the rooftop pool (now known as White Rabbit Sky Lounge, above) more or less the same, and you can sip on a cocktail or two here without being a guest.

The restaurant I dined at before has been converted to Casa Madera. The space looks stunning, and I’m excited to try their Mayan Riviera-inspired dishes next time.

P.S. I took my photo on a DSLR and got told off by the staff. Maybe that’s changed, maybe not. Something to keep in mind!

50. Silver Lake Pool & Inn

Silver Lake Pool & Inn is part of the Palisociety collection, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for design lovers.

I found out about it from RedNote, and according to some Google reviews, it’s more of an eye candy than it is a practical hotel. Then again, any business is bound to get negative feedback here and there. The majority of the reviews is well-received, but if you’re on the fence, you can snag a one-day pool pass or go for an Italian night at Marco Polo.
