My name is Jasmine (or JasChen) and I am a May baby and an only child. I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, but my family immigrated to Canada when I was little. I have been living in Vancouver since and I take pride in my dual citizenship.
As someone who works full-time in the digital marketing field, I get 10 paid vacation days a year. Definitely not a lot, which is exactly why I utilize long weekends to maximize my travels. By sharing tricks I’ve picked up along the way, I hope to inspire and challenge others like me to get out there and see the world.
My Suitcase Journeys
Over the course of summer 2014, I studied abroad in France for six weeks. As part of the course I was taking, I kept a blog of my leanings as well as any interesting experiences I’d encountered. By the end of the six weeks, I decided to keep blogging!
So why “My Suitcase Journeys”? M and Y are the initials of my Chinese name. M for “ming” (明) which means smart and bright, and Y for “yu” (愉) – joy and happiness. Likewise with travelling, there’s laughter involved, but you obviously can’t be happy-go-lucky about everything. Sometimes you gotta be smart with how you travel. I want to be able to entertain my readers with funny stories, but I wish to provide insightful tips as well. And of course, this is after all a blog about my personal experiences, my journeys, and my learnings. So there you have it. My Suitcase Journeys. Follow me around the globe and join me on my exciting expeditions!
