Parks & Gardens
1 . Gardens by the Bay
There’s no doubt that Gardens by the Bay is one of the most well-known Singapore tourist attractions. What most people don’t know is that the park itself is a collection of three separate gardens. Below are my top picks for Instaworthy shots.
Supertree Grove. Standing at 25 to 50 meters tall, these trees provide shade in the day and light up to music every night at 7:45pm and 8:45pm. Be sure to bring your wide angle lens!
OCBC Skyway. Take a stroll amongst the supertrees! (Tip: double check their maintenance schedule and plan your visit accordingly.)
Cloud Forest is home to the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. Did I mention it’s my fave part of the entire park?

3. Singapore Botanic Gardens
Fun fact: this is a 160-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site. A popular Singapore Instagram spot here is the National Orchid Garden. There are a total of 1,000 different species and 2,000 hybrids of orchids. Talk about a sight not to be missed!
4. Universal Studios Singapore
There’s so much more to amusement parks than the rides. At Universal Studios Singapore, you can relive your childhood at Sesame Street or teleport yourself to New York Street. Explore a full list of their attractions and book your ticket in advance here.
5. Chinese Garden
Despite having been to Singapore four times now, I have yet to explore this beautiful gem. Keep in mind that it is a bit of a journey to get to. Nonetheless, it is well worth the trip!
6. Fort Canning Park

If you haven’t noticed by now, Singapore is extremely green. Take a walk in nature and surround yourself in a lush paradise!
8. Jurong Birdpark
While on the topic of walkways and bridges, Lory Loft at Jurong Bird Park is a must-visit in Singapore too. Be sure to feed the lory birds here!
9. Punggol Waterway Park
View this post on Instagram
By the waterway. This park is crazy huge; very interesting landscape along the HDB and the river.
As its name suggests, this park is located in Punggol along Sentul Crescent. There are a total of four themed areas and is perfect for visiting with friends and family alike.
10. Marina Barrage
On weekends, you can find locals gathered around here picnicking and flying kites.
11. Kent Ridge Park
On a recent trip to Singapore, I planned to fly my drone here and take some aerial shots. Shockingly, however, this park is actually haunted!
As I was Googling about the park, I came across an article. During World War II, this used to be a battleground between Japanese soldiers and the Malay Regiment Army. Rumors have it that those who visited have experienced some sort of supernatural incident. That being the case, I ended up not going because I’m a scaredy cat. Consequently, I cannot verify if this is true or not so visit at your own risk!
12. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
Photo by Angela from Angie & James Do Stuff. Here is a full recap of their adventure.
Don’t have the stomach for horror? Sungei Buloh is a great alternative to Kent Ridge Park.
13. Macritchie Reservoir Park

15. Telok Blangah Hill Park
Add a pop of pink to your feed with the gorgeous bougainvilleas blooming here at Telok Blangah Hill Park.
Famous Landmarks
16. Singapore Flyer

17. Helix Bridge
Helix Bridge is a pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre to Marina South. It illuminates during the evening, but is lovely no matter when you visit.
Temples/Mosques
According to the Pew Research Center study conducted in 2014, Singapore is the most religiously diverse country in the world. From Buddhism to Christianity and Islam to Hinduism, this city-state is one big melting pot of multiculturalism.
18. Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
View this post on Instagram
Climbed 14 floors with a tripod in the scorching 30°C Singapore heat for this shot. Worth or nah? 🤩
Buddha Tooth Relic is both a Buddhist temple and a museum complex. It is located in Chinatown and lights up during special occasions such as Chinese New Year’s.
By the way, any Hayao Miyazaki fans out there? Doesn’t this remind you of Yubaba’s bathhouse from Spirited Away?
19. Masjid Sultan
Also known as Sultan Mosque, this national monument in Kampong Glam is another one of the more well-liked Instagram worthy places in Singapore. Its striking gold domes not only make for the perfect shot, they are an architectural wonder as well. Each dome base is decorated with glass bottle ends donated by lower-income Muslims. Regardless of one’s financial profile, everyone was allowed the chance to contribute to reconstructing this mosque.
20. Sri Mariamman Temple
Sri Mariamman is an agamic temple in the heart of Chinatown and is Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple.
Please note that the above three are places of worship. It is completely fine to take photos and admire their beauty, but be respectful and use your common sense for what is okay and not okay to do.
Museums
21. ArtScience Museum
Above is teamLab’s permanent exhibit “Future World: Where Art Meets Science”. Additionally, the night time view of the museum exterior is just as spectacular too. No wonder it’s one of the most trendy Instagrammable places in Singapore!
22. S.E.A. Aquarium
S.E.A. Aquarium is home to more than 100,000 marine animals. In other words, it is a fantastic spot to bring your kids to over the weekend.
23. National Museum of Singapore
As Singapore’s oldest museum, you can expect to find super fun and eye-opening exhibits here.
24. National Gallery of Singapore
In comparison to the National Museum of Singapore, this museum recently opened in 2015 and is relatively new. If you are a fan of contemporary art, this is your jam!
25. Peranakan Museum

The name says it all. Peranakan Museum is a museum showcasing Peranakan culture. The building itself is in a stunning Eclectic Classical style and is incredibly photogenic. Visit with a thirst for knowledge and explore their unique Southeast Asian traditions and distinctive visual arts.
Psttt! There’s also a new Perankan Gallery in Changi Airport Terminal 4.

30. Potato Head Singapore
Originating from Bali’s famous beach club, Potato Head Singapore is a burger joint, classy speakeasy, and lively rooftop bar all in one. Even though burgers are their main specialty, I highly recommend the Pokemon poké bowl!
Photography with a professional DSLR is not allowed inside. Don’t forget to put down your camera and simply enjoy the moment! Special shoutout to Jason @smashpop. We met staying at KēSa House across the street and his work will blow your mind.
31. Central Perk Café
This one is for all my Friends fans out there. Bring your pals along and recreate your favorite scene!
Hotels
32. Marina Bay Sands
Marina Bay Sands is more than a hotel. It is an integrated resort featuring a mall, a museum, two theaters, celebrity chef restaurants, and the world’s largest atrium casino. More importantly, its SkyPark Infinity Pool will have you clicking away on your camera non-stop!

In & Around the City
36. Former House of Tan Teng Niah
2015 right, 2019 left.
Little India is notably one of the most colorful Instagrammable places in Singapore. Former House of Tan Teng Niah, in particular, was one of the places in this district that I’d really wanted to see during my first Singapore trip years back. (This was before it even started trending on IG!) Fast forward a few years later, I revisited again and it’s still as vibrant as ever.
37. Haji Lane
Raise your hand if you love murals. Well, this one’s for you! Located in Kampong Glam, Haji Lane is full of quirky photo ops. The hip cafés and independent fashion boutiques here are especially popular amongst youngsters in Singapore.
For a complete guide on where to eat and where to shop, head on over to Honeycombers.
38. Dream
I’d initially found this place by luck when strolling along the waters. Since I’d just finished a couple shoots, I was exhausted and not feeling cute for the gram. That said, Sunetra from @globetrottingsu has captured Singapore’s dreamscapes flawlessly. I’ve been following Su for quite some time now and believe it or not, she is based in Singapore. Don’t forget to give her a follow if you want more local recommendations!
39. library@orchard
Orchard Road is known for shopping. Not a fan of shopping? Escape the busyness of it all to a tranquil sanctuary of books!
40. Clarke Quay
Unwind from your whole day of activities and sip on a glass of beer by the riverside.

Sentosa Island is an island resort with lively beach party scenes and exciting outdoor activities. Fees apply for island entry. See below:
- $1 by foot (fee waived until December 31st, 2020
- Fee by bike and bus
- $2-6 (depending on time of visit) per vehicle by car/taxi
- $4 by Sentosa Express monorail (or $2 for concession cards)
- $33 by cable car from Mount Faber or Harbourfront
This is a super long list so by now you’re probably only scrolling through the pictures. Before we continue onto the next category, here is a special bonus for those who actually read and pay attention… Peranakan Houses on Koon Seng Road is one of the top Instagrammable places in Singapore frequented by female travel bloggers. The reason I’m not explicitly including this is because locals reside in these houses. If groups of tourists started showing up at my home everyday, I’d probably be pretty annoyed. That said, if you decide to pay a visit, please be respectful and put your camera shutter on silent. Try not to linger too long like those influencers who bring suitcases for product shoots lol. (Yes, that’s a thing! I’ve seen pictures of it and it’s completely bizarre!)
Other Architectural Wonders
42. Jewel Changi Airport + HSBC Rain Vortex
Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past couple of months, you’ve probably seen this newly built $1.7 billion complex all over social media.
This futuristic green space features 14 different attractions from the most famous HSBC Rain Vortex to the Canopy Bridge and Mirror Maze – just to name a few. In addition to that, there are retail shops and restaurants to ensure travellers have a pleasant in-transit experience. No wonder Singapore Changi Airport has been ranked as the world’s best airport since 2013! It’s not an airport; it’s a destination in itself.
Note that the rain vortex only operates from 9am to 11:30pm with light and sound shows running at hourly intervals between 7:30pm to 11:30pm daily.
43. ION Orchard
Getting bored waiting for the girlfriend to finish her retail therapy? Or perhaps you’re not a big spender, but your gal pals love to shop ’til they drop? Besides being a shopping mall, ION Orchard’s impressive design is sure to wow you at night.
44. The Hive

Yet another spot that is both striking on the exterior and remarkable on the interior. An alternative name for The Hive is the Learning Hub and it is located in Nanyang Technological University. Can you imagine going to school there?
45. Old Hill Street Police Station
The Old Hill Street Police Station is a historic building and former police station in Singapore. Looking to add some color to your feed? This is the place to go!
46. People’s Park Complex
View this post on Instagram
This yellow commercial and residential building makes for a vibrant backdrop for portrait photography.
47. Fountain of Wealth at Suntec City
This was a highlight for me during my first time in Singapore as I loved the light shows here. (They run every day at 8:00pm, 8:30pm, and 9:00pm.) In 1998, it was listed by Guinness Book of Records as the largest fountain in the world. Much to my surprise, however, it’s not much of a touristy spot at all.
Rumors have it that if you extend your hand out into the center of the fall and circle around it three times, you will be blessed with good fortune. I didn’t notice much of a difference, but give it a try and let me know in the comments below.
48. The Interlace
This 1000-unit jenga apartment complex is a favorite amongst drone pilots. I mean, would you look at how incredible it is from above!?
49. Esplanade

50. LASALLE College of the Arts
Can’t call yourself an arts school if your buildings aren’t artsy AF, am I right?
P.S. is it obvious that I love Jimmy Chan @jimchanfc‘s urban shots? I tried to include photos of Instagrammable places in Singapore from a variety of different content creators, but it’s hard not to share more of his talented work. Check out Jimmy’s Instagram for more Singapore inspo!
Bonus
Singapore is constantly booming with new restaurants, structures, and exhibitions. The list of Instagrammable places in Singapore simply never ends! Below are a few additional bonus items you absolutely cannot miss out on.
51. The Bubble Tea Factory
This brand new immersive bubble tea-themed exhibit recently launched in October 2019 and will only run until December 18th, 2019. Definitely check it out if you’re going to be in Singapore before then.
52. Night Safari
Admission to this Singapore wildlife reserve isn’t cheap. However, it is 100% worth it – especially if you are into wildlife photography. There are a total of 17 various animals from Asian elephants and clouded leopards to fishing cats and Malayan flying fox. Prepare for a jaw-dropping experience!

Despite Singapore being the 20th smallest country in the world, it’s a city where you will never get bored. I have visited three times this year alone and it has easily become a new favorite destination to shoot. Have fun shooting and I’ll see you in the next post!
Indeed very photogenic locations! I’ve never been in Singapore, but these photos are really enticing. I’m hoping to see some of them in real life someday.
Author
I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you to visit soon then! 😉
This is supercool. We are heading to Singapore early next year and I’m gonna keep in mind all of these!
Botanic Garden looks spectacular. Did you actually lose your shoes there or was it for the picture? Fort Canning Park is just wow! The angle of the photograph is breathtaking!
Bukit Timah and Makrichie Reservoir Park are so serene and so natural. If I hadn’t known I wouldn’t have guessed this to be Singapore!
Author
Hahaa no I didn’t lose my shoes. I realized last minute that my shoes didn’t match the dress so I took them off for the photo. You’re gonna have so much fun in Singapore and don’t hesitate to reach out if you ever need any other recommendations!
Thanks for taking me back to Singapore. We saw a lot in 3 days. But I now see we need to go back. I wish we had visited the Chinese Garden at sunset. For Canning Park definitely does look like an Alice in Wonderland spot. There are so many parks that we missed. But I would not miss skipping a monkey experience. Good to have some indoor spots on the list. Maybe we will visit the Arts and Science Museum or the Aquarium. The night safari does look like a great splurge. Definitely need to head back.
Author
You’re most welcome, Linda! I’ve been to Singapore about four times now and still haven’t seen everything on this list so there’s definitely no rush 🙂
I would love to visit Singapore one day. There are so many great places to take photos, but I think Gardens by the Bay is my favorite!
Author
I highly recommend it! It’s my absolute favorite for sure <3

The Floral Fantasy background is also such a nice spot. Will try to visit during our next trip.
Though, I have never thought about the background at the Marina Bay Sands but your photo is just stunning.
Anyway, Thank you so much for sharing this. Bookmarking this for future refence.

Author
Aww well you have it now for reference. Maybe it’s time to plan a revisit!
You have taken all superb shots of Singapore and thanks for sharing all the photogenic places of Singapore. My first choice would be Supertree Grove. It is great that you tipped us to bring your wide angle lens. Sri Mariamman temple in the heart of Chinatown which is Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple looks very colorful.
Author
A wide angle lens is a must when at Supertree Grove. Any plans to visit Singapore soon?
So many great spots in Singapore! I especially love Gardens by the Bay, those trees are incredible. The mix of technology and nature works really well and it’s great for creating images. I really need to go back and visit this great place again!
Author
Tell me about it! I’m already longing to be back as well!
thanks for this. When I was in Singapore, I was only there for 1 day. A quick stroll around Chinatown, strolling around the cultural neighborhoods, down to see the laser show in the evening and that was it. Now you have given me a list of all the places and next time I am definitely planning to stay longer in Singapore. I especially want to check out that indoor waterfall!
Author
One day definitely isn’t enough! Hope you’ll get to go back soon and don’t hesitate if you ever need any other recommendations 🙂
OMG…you have captured these places so beautifully. I can’t wait to visit Singapore to capture everything you have mentioned. The Photographs are simply outstanding. My favorite is undoubtedly Fort Canning Park. Thanks for providing this list.

Thank you dear! For Canning Park is such a magical place although I do hear the line for photos can easily last up to an hour’s wait now.
I really cant wait to go to Singapore, it has been my dream for a very long time, if it’s like Hong Kong, i am going to go super snappy crazy. These photos look amazing!
Author
Aww well it’s time to make it a reality rather than just a dream!!!

Author
Thanks love! Happy to hear Singapore has now moved up your list and I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you to visit soon!
I was in Singapore two years ago and it is definitely a cool city with interesting architecture. The whole city is almost made for Instagram. I had no idea most of these spots even existed! The Gardens by the Bay and Botanical Gardens were my favorite, but the rest of the parks all look really pretty as well.
Author
You’re so right that the entire country is just photogenic. Maybe it’s time for a revisit so you can explore some of the other ares that you didn’t get to last time 😉
Wow, so many beautiful places. Singapore is now on my bucket list!
Author
It’s bucket list worthy for sure!
Your photos are incredible – I knew Singapore was a cool place to visit but I didn’t realise just how cool! Thanks for such a great post!
Author
Thank you, Ciara and you’re most welcome 😀
Singapore seems to have unique and amazing places to visit. It is tough for me to say which one is the best but I would love to visit all of these places. Singapore is stunning! Visiting the Gardens bn the Bay is so high on my bucket list.
Author
Hope you’ll get to cross it off soon!
Uh yes! Most definitely they are all inspiring Instagram-worthy posts. How do you choose a favourite, they are all stunning. I am a sucker for bookstores, water reflection and pink…so those would be a few of my favourites 😊
Author
Right!? It’s so difficult to choose, but the ones you mentioned are most certainly great picks!
I love the helix bridge and the description of ocbc. I particularly like the way you have embedded your instagram handle in the post. Singapore goes up by a few notches in my bucket list….
Author
Happy to hear!
Very creative way to turn your IG posts into a story. Nicely done. Quite a few fun images too. Totally enamoured with the Helix Bridge and of course the Gardens by the Bay and the incredible trees — that have appeared in literally millions of photos. They must be truly amazing in person.
Author
They totally are and I don’t think any picture or video can truly do them justice! Any plans to visit Singapore soon? 😉
Simply breathtaking areas, I had no idea of some of these absolutely other worldly spots in Singapore. I had seen photos of the Gardens by the Bay, but didn’t quite understand them, thank you for all of the information about them. Fort Canning Park and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve would be must visits for me as well. Eek I must visit!
Author
You must! I think you’d really enjoy Singapore, April 🙂

Author
You’re welcome dear and I hope you get to visit sometimes soon 🙂
Woaaah you found so many perfect photo spots around Singapore. I visited there years ago, and I have to admit, we did not worry about this kind of photography at all. I was more interested in finding the best food! 😉
I really hope lots of these folks are having fun and enjoying the sights *as well* as taking beautiful photos. I mean, travel is best when you experience it, not just when you show off how pretty a place is..
Author
Ahhh yes! My first trip there was focused on finding all the yummy dishes too hahaa. And I don’t know about others but I personally always enjoy taking photos and I had a ton of fun visiting all these gardens and exhibits 😀
I love Singapore and I want to comeback here in the future. Great compilation of Singapore best areas to have great memorable keepsake that will make everyone Wow.
Author
Take me back with ya!

Absolutely amazing places to take awesome pictures! What a list to explore! I added so many of them to my list of places to explore!
Author
Yay! That makes me so happy to hear!!!
I absolutely love how you have colour coordinated your outfits and props with the background – the photos are absolutely gorgeous! I don’t think I can make it to all in different clothes.. haha.. since I’ll be on a short tour. But these are some fatastic ideas!
Author
Hahaa thank you for noticing! I did compile this list of places over four separate trips though so I guess you can say I cheated a little 😉
Singapore has probably the most beautiful man-made monuments and attractions. Helix bridge and Gardens of bay are my favourites.
Author
Oh for sure! Can defs see why those two would be your faves too!
We’ve yet to visit Singapore – it’s been on our bucket list for sometime now but after seeing the incredible photos in this post, I feel inspired to plan a trip there soon. OCBC Walkway looks incredible especially in the evening and the Floral Fantasy exhibit is stunning to say the least. Will surely refer to your post when we plan our trip.
Author
Yay! You’ll definitely have to plan a trip over ASAP because you’d love all the gorgeous exhibits at Gardens by the Bay!
Singapore is certainly a very photogenic place and you’ve captured all the best spots in once article! My favourite is probably Haji Lane but that library looks amazing too!
Author
Both are cute and two that I haven’t had a chance to get to yet. Shall we have a bet to see who will visit first? Hahaa.
Your photos are stunning!! Singapore is clearly an Instagrammer’s paradise. All those gardens sound fabulous, especially the National Orchid Garden! I’ll get to Singapore one day 🙂
Author
It 100% is! Hope that day comes soon, Maggie!
What gorgeous shots of a magnificent town. Makes me want to jump on a plane for Singapore right now!
Author
I could defs use a trip back right now for sure!
Having recently spent a weekend in Singapore, it is very interesting to see what I missed. As always, your pictures are beautiful and stunning and do a great job of capturing the beauty of the places you’ve been. Masjid Sultan was definitely one of my favorite places, and Atlas bar looks so beautiful! I can’t believe I missed that one; I’ll have to go next time!
Author
Thank you Kevin! I’ve been four times and haven’t even gotten to all the places on this list so don’t feel bad hahaa. Atlas is gorgeous and a must if you love gin! 😉

Author
Well if you ever need any other recommendations or have questions for that future trip, don’t hesitate to reach out! 😉
Quite an exhaustive list! I’d love to add Bay East (Gardens by the Bay East) to the list (located across the Marina Bay from Gardens by the Bay South), as it’s probably the best spot to see Singapore skyline. I’m sure that you’ll love the view seen from Bay East. 🙂
