Popular Tourist Attractions
1 . Gardens by the Bay
There’s no doubt that Gardens by the Bay is one of the absolute most beautiful places in Singapore.
What most tourists don’t know is that the park itself is a collection of three separate gardens. Below are my top picks for Singapore Instagram spots.
Supertree Grove. Standing at 25 to 50 meters tall, these trees provide shade in the day and light up to music every night at 7:45PM and 8:45PM.
OCBC Skyway. Take a stroll amongst the supertrees. Remember to double check their maintenance schedule first! (It was closed during my first two visits and I didn’t get to finally walk across the skyway until my third trip.)
Cloud Forest is home to the world’s tallest indoor waterfall and is a relaxing corner to escape the summer heat.

Floral Fantasy. This is one of the newer Singapore tourist attractions showcasing 15,000 fresh cut, dried, and preserved blooms. It features four diverse sections each with its own distinctive landscape, as well as a 4D ride where you can take a simulated flight around Gardens by the Bay through the eyes of a dragonfly.
2. Merlion Park
A merlion is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish.
Snap a picture with this Singapore mascot and check it off your list of things to see in Singapore!
3. Singapore Botanic Gardens
This tropical garden is a 160-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Its National Orchid Garden is known as the world’s largest orchid display with a collection of 1,000 different species and 2,000 hybrids of orchids. That said, it’s definitely one of the most photogenic places in Singapore you won’t want to miss.
4. Universal Studios Singapore
At Universal Studios Singapore, you can relive your childhood at Sesame Street or teleport yourself to Big Apple at New York Street.
In addition to interactive shows and exhilarating rides, there are plenty of Singapore photography spots here.
5. Sentosa Island
Sentosa is a tropical island resort off Singapore’s southern coast. It spans across 500 hectares of land and is home to world-class attractions like Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark, and Dolphin Island.
With its beaches lined with luxury resorts and lively bars, it’s a vacation paradise for locals and tourists alike.
Parks & Gardens
6. Chinese Garden
The Chinese Garden is one of two Jurong Gardens. The other being the Japanese Garden.
It was designed by Taiwanese architect, Yuen-chen Yu, and modelled after northern Chinese imperial style of architecture and landscaping.
Being located in Jurong East means it’s a bit of a journey to get to. Nonetheless, it is well worth the trip.
7. Fort Canning Park
Follow White Rabbit down the rabbit hole in this Singaporean version of Alice in Wonderland.
I first discovered this from Tara and Nuttakanlaya back in March of 2019. When I visited the following month in April, there was a family and one other photographer there shooting. No one else.
Now I’m obviously not the first to share about Fort Canning to social media and I’m not saying I’m the sole reason this gem became so popularized. However, my post got picked up by hundreds of million-follower repost accounts, and went mega viral on Instagram.
Since then, I’ve heard from many friends that they have had to wait in line for two hours just for a photo. If you want a picture here, I strongly suggest visiting early in the morning and on a weekday if possible.
To access the spiral staircase, you can either…
- Take the tunnel at Fort Canning Link by Dhoby Ghaunt MRT
- OR take exit C from Bencoolen MRT then head out to Canning Walk where you will arrive at the top of the stairs. Simply follow those steps down to find this iconic view.
8. Southern Ridges
If you haven’t noticed by now, Singapore is extremely green. Take a walk in nature and surround yourself in a lush paradise!
9. Jurong Birdpark
While on the topic of walkways and bridges, Lory Loft at Jurong Bird Park is another one of the most attractive places in Singapore. And pst! You can even feed the lory birds here!
10. Telok Blangah Hill Park
My local IG friend, Chervon, has photographed one of the most aesthetic places in Singapore.

Doesn’t it kind of remind you of Yubaba’s bathhouse from Spirited Away?
15. Masjid Sultan
Otherwise known as the Sultan Mosque, this national monument in Kampong Glam is another one of the more well-liked photo spots in Singapore.
Its striking gold domes not only make for the perfect shot, they are an architectural wonder as well.

Botanic Garden looks spectacular. Did you actually lose your shoes there or was it for the picture? Fort Canning Park is just wow! The angle of the photograph is breathtaking!
Bukit Timah and Makrichie Reservoir Park are so serene and so natural. If I hadn’t known I wouldn’t have guessed this to be Singapore!
Hahaa no I didn’t lose my shoes. I realized last minute that my shoes didn’t match the dress so I took them off for the photo. You’re gonna have so much fun in Singapore and don’t hesitate to reach out if you ever need any other recommendations!
Thanks for taking me back to Singapore. We saw a lot in 3 days. But I now see we need to go back. I wish we had visited the Chinese Garden at sunset. For Canning Park definitely does look like an Alice in Wonderland spot. There are so many parks that we missed. But I would not miss skipping a monkey experience. Good to have some indoor spots on the list. Maybe we will visit the Arts and Science Museum or the Aquarium. The night safari does look like a great splurge. Definitely need to head back.
You’re most welcome, Linda! I’ve been to Singapore about four times now and still haven’t seen everything on this list so there’s definitely no rush 🙂
I would love to visit Singapore one day. There are so many great places to take photos, but I think Gardens by the Bay is my favorite!

You have taken all superb shots of Singapore and thanks for sharing all the photogenic places of Singapore. My first choice would be Supertree Grove. It is great that you tipped us to bring your wide angle lens. Sri Mariamman temple in the heart of Chinatown which is Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple looks very colorful.
A wide angle lens is a must when at Supertree Grove. Any plans to visit Singapore soon?
So many great spots in Singapore! I especially love Gardens by the Bay, those trees are incredible. The mix of technology and nature works really well and it’s great for creating images. I really need to go back and visit this great place again!
Tell me about it! I’m already longing to be back as well!
thanks for this. When I was in Singapore, I was only there for 1 day. A quick stroll around Chinatown, strolling around the cultural neighborhoods, down to see the laser show in the evening and that was it. Now you have given me a list of all the places and next time I am definitely planning to stay longer in Singapore. I especially want to check out that indoor waterfall!
One day definitely isn’t enough! Hope you’ll get to go back soon and don’t hesitate if you ever need any other recommendations 🙂

Thanks love! Happy to hear Singapore has now moved up your list and I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you to visit soon!
I was in Singapore two years ago and it is definitely a cool city with interesting architecture. The whole city is almost made for Instagram. I had no idea most of these spots even existed! The Gardens by the Bay and Botanical Gardens were my favorite, but the rest of the parks all look really pretty as well.
You’re so right that the entire country is just photogenic. Maybe it’s time for a revisit so you can explore some of the other ares that you didn’t get to last time 😉
Wow, so many beautiful places. Singapore is now on my bucket list!
It’s bucket list worthy for sure!

Singapore is stunning! Visiting the Gardens bn the Bay is so high on my bucket list.
Hope you’ll get to cross it off soon!
Uh yes! Most definitely they are all inspiring Instagram-worthy posts. How do you choose a favourite, they are all stunning. I am a sucker for bookstores, water reflection and pink…so those would be a few of my favourites 😊
Right!? It’s so difficult to choose, but the ones you mentioned are most certainly great picks!
I love the helix bridge and the description of ocbc. I particularly like the way you have embedded your instagram handle in the post. Singapore goes up by a few notches in my bucket list….
Happy to hear!
Very creative way to turn your IG posts into a story. Nicely done. Quite a few fun images too. Totally enamoured with the Helix Bridge and of course the Gardens by the Bay and the incredible trees — that have appeared in literally millions of photos. They must be truly amazing in person.
They totally are and I don’t think any picture or video can truly do them justice! Any plans to visit Singapore soon? 😉
Simply breathtaking areas, I had no idea of some of these absolutely other worldly spots in Singapore. I had seen photos of the Gardens by the Bay, but didn’t quite understand them, thank you for all of the information about them. I’ll be going to Singapore soon, so I’ll definitely be checking out some of these fabulous locations. Can’t wait. I didn’t realise Gardens By The Bay was actually 3 different gardens.

Woaaah you found so many perfect photo spots around Singapore. I visited there years ago, and I have to admit, we did not worry about this kind of photography at all. I was more interested in finding the best food! 😉
I really hope lots of these folks are having fun and enjoying the sights *as well* as taking beautiful photos. I mean, travel is best when you experience it, not just when you show off how pretty a place is..
Ahhh yes! My first trip there was focused on finding all the yummy dishes too hahaa. And I don’t know about others but I personally always enjoy taking photos and I had a ton of fun visiting all these gardens and exhibits 😀
