Thailand has no shortage of aesthetic cafes with yummy food and drinks. That said, I have broken down all the best coffee shops in Bangkok into different categories, so you can plan your travel itinerary accordingly.

1. The Cassette Coffee Bar

This all-pink coffee bar is Siam Square’s hottest IG spot. It is after after a retro hotel and is perfect for #OOTD shoots.

I ordered the Yuzu Honey Lemon, which is a refreshing beverage sans caffeine. While their drinks are delicious, they are a little pricey by Thailand’s standards.

Founded by Thai actor, Inn Sarin Ronnakiat, HOLIDAY PASTRY is a vintage-inspired brunch and dessert cafe.

It originally started out as an online bakery with pop-up shops at various malls. In 2022, they finally opened a flagship store near ICONSIAM, and has become the talk of the town ever since.

Not only do they serve creative cakes and mouthwatering dishes, their European-style decor is absolute eye candy as well!

3. FO SHO BRO

Although they have a great drink selection, the general consensus is that their food is somewhat underwhelming.

There are so many nice cafes in Bangkok that I haven’t been able to check out every single one. However, the next time I am back in Thailand, I will make sure to pay a visit here and let you know my thoughts!

Ksana matcha is a brand new matcha specialty cafe that recently opened this summer. All of their matcha powders are of the finest ceremonial grade and are imported directly from Kyoto, Japan.

Its white walls are based on Arizona’s Antelope Canyon. Talk about a stunning photo backdrop!

5. Ittha Boutique Cafe

If Morocco or the States aren’t your vibes, the Roman pillars and Renaissance interior here are sure to impress.

This European-esque coffee shop is all about specialty coffee brews and appetizing treats made from organic ingredients.

They also offer high tea as well as a brand new Japanese-style Namagashi Tea Set.

Since they only sell a few a day, I recommend booking in advance via Instagram.

6. Flat+White cafe

Flat+White cafe’s sculpture-like contour shapes and lines are said to be inspired by the softness of milk foam. If you’re after minimalistic vibes for your white Instagram theme, look no further.

I ordered a Chocolate Brownie and the signature drink, Dirty. It’s an espresso droplet with sunflower-seed cream, pistachio, hazelnut, and hojicha. So yum!

7. The Mustang Blu

The Mustang Blu is a boutique hotel situated in a former bank building from the late 1800s. Their Café & Restaurant is perhaps the most unique cafe in Bangkok, and can often be seen across various social media channels.

Most Google reviews criticize them for their high prices and mediocre food/drinks. Not to mention, each guest is required to order two items minimum.

I haven’t had a chance to visit yet and cannot say, but I will report back if and when I do go.

What sets Rolling Roasters apart isn’t just good coffee and reasonable prices. Its industrial punk design also makes it a popular hangout spot and remote working space.

You’re not going to believe it… This vintage cafe hidden in the streets of Talat Noi is actually run by 70-something-year-old barista, Grandma Pin.

Her signature drink is the Iced Latte On The Rocks. To avoid diluting and altering the original taste of the coffee, she uses a giant ice ball instead of crushed ice.

Patom Organic Living is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cafes in Bangkok. More importantly, it is a showroom aimed at promoting sustainable living and raising ecological awareness.

They run various workshops and a farmers market within the garden. Why not bring some organic body care products home while you’re at it!

Daydream Believer is a cute cafe in Bangkok that specializes in Thai and Italian cuisine.

I suggest coming with friends instead of coming to do work, as laptops are sadly not allowed here.

Nana Coffee Roasters Bangna is yet another aesthetic cafe in Bangkok. Unlike your regular coffee provider, however, it doubles as a meditative retreat.

The concept behind its lush, minimalistic design is to create a functional space to highlight the coffee-drinking experience. Having said that, you can expect to find unevenly contoured table tops that mimic the northern mountain ranges where coffee beans originate.

It’s not so much about the Insta ops as it is about enjoying a high-quality cup of java.

16. Botanist activity space and more

As its name implies, Botanist activity space and more is not just a coffee shop. In fact, it is a well-maintained greenhouse with more than 20 years of history.

Its photogenic cacti garden and picturesque koi pond have attracted visitors from all over the world, and is a Bangkok cafe not to be missed.

If you’re a matcha lover, you’ll be happy to know that Botanist’s menu is entirely centered around green tea.

Entrance costs 100 THB (~$3 USD/~$4 CAD) per person. This can be deducted from your food/drinks bill.

17. Natura Cafe

Natura Cafe is a garden cafe and restaurant tucked away in Poomjai Garden.

They are all about combining traditional Thai art and cuisine with modern elements, which is reflected in both their menu and bamboo treehouse structure.

At Bigknit Cafe, you can crochet bags and purses. I saw my friend Nam come here and I knew I had to add this to my Bangkok bucket list.

Note that reservations are not required, but are encouraged. The knitting workshop also only runs until 5:00PM. (The cafe closes at 9:00PM.) Plan accordingly!

21. Unicorn Cafe

Unicorn Cafe is a themed cafe in Bangkok that has been around since 2012.

They have an extensive menu of rainbow-colored milkshakes and desserts, and you can even rent a unicorn costume for pictures. (Rentals are 100 THB, which is roughly $3 USD or $4 CAD.)

22. ViVi The Coffee Place

Upon first look, ViVi The Coffee Place seems like any other ordinary cafe, but it has some of the most spectacular views of Wat Arun.

23. Hong Sieng Kong

Hong Sieng Kong is a retro cafe reminiscent of an old school Chinese inn.

It is located in a remodeled 150-year-old home, and is decorated with antique furniture from 500 years ago.

If you’re a history buff who is eager about exploring cultural heritage sites, be sure to try their signature Talad Noi Orange Coffee or Coconut Blossom Coffee.

Regardless of which, you can’t deny that the Sathorn Square branch is an architectural wonder.

From the outside, the building resembles a giant Christmas tree. If you were to stand inside and look up, you can see an intricate lotus petal glass design.

25. Café Tua Ngern Tua Thong

In Thailand, monitor lizards are known as a “tua ngern tua thong,” which means “silver and gold animal.” They are a symbol of prosperity and are thought to bring good fortune.

The owner behind this reptile-themed cafe spent 120 million THB (~$3.3 million USD/~$4.5 million CAD) constructing its gold, bamboo house. Despite this jaw-dropping wow factor, it is definitely one of those cool cafes in Bangkok that you go for the photo ops, not for its food or drinks.

Entrance fee is 50 THB (less than $2) per person. This can be deducted from your bill.

After the Rain Coffee & Gallery is Instagram’s latest craze.

I first found out about it from my IG friend, Vivian, and was instantly mesmerized by its lush jungle vibes.

It takes anywhere between 30 to 55 minutes to reach by car – depending on traffic. You can row a boat here, and the food and drinks are equally as delectable as its views. Just remember to bring bug spray!

27. Bubble in the Forest Cafe

Bubble in the Forest Cafe is another hot trend on Instagram and TikTok, and is famous for its villa-like, over-the-water floating seats.

A car ride here can take 35 to 75 minutes. If you want the best seat, make a reservation via Line and pay the deposit fee. (You can ask your hotel to wire the transfer for you.) For walk-ins, expect a wait of up to two hours on certain days.

seayou cafe & bar opened in 2022 and is still relatively new in the restaurant industry. During the day, it is a tropical riverside cafe. At night, the cafe transforms into a beach club/bar, and is a romantic venue for weekend date night.

For reference, it takes 30 to 40 minutes to get here from Bangkok city center.
