Times Square is notably one of the most iconic tourist attraction sights in New York. Whether you’re looking to shop ’til you drop or you want a front row experience at Phantom of the Opera, The Knickerbocker is no doubt the best Times Square hotel choice!

About The Knick
Originally built in 1906, The Knick is the first ever luxury hotel in Times Square. Its Beaux-Arts façade beautifully contrasts New York’s dynamic landscape as well as its contemporary designs within. It houses a total of 330 guest rooms/suits and its rooftop bar has views that will make your jaw drop!
We landed at LaGuardia Airport at 7:00pm on a Thursday and took a taxi to The Knick. We were originally going to order a Lyft/Uber, but the lineup for pickup was insanely long. The airport staff actually advised us that a taxi ride may more or less cost about the same. In the end, our cab fare came to $44.42 USD, which was inclusive of a $10 rush hour surcharge, and the ride was approximately an hour long.
Premier City View King Bed Room
This 352-square-foot room features a king-size bed and a queen-size sofa bed. It sleeps up to two guests and is incredibly spacious. Premier City rooms also come with two queen-size beds (we stayed in the king bed only one) and all rooms have corner views of Broadway & 42nd Street.
Perched above the city skyline, St. Cloud is The Knick’s ultimate rooftop bar and lounge. We unfortunately didn’t get a chance to grab drinks here, but I can definitely see myself coming back on a future trip!
Around the Area
Apart from Times Square, The Knick is also steps to other popular attraction sights like Bryant Park and The New York Public Library. Not to mention, there are several subway stops nearby. From number trains to letter ones, The Knick’s central location makes it extremely convenient for travellers to explore what New York has to offer.

Both my friend and I had a fabulous stay at The Knick and I really don’t have anything negative to say about our experience. The room is a little dark though and there is no pool on the property. However, that doesn’t necessarily bother everyone. (I was perfectly fine with both.) Hotels in New York generally just don’t have pools. Plus, if you are looking to get some work done in the room, there’s nothing that a single switch of the lamp can’t fix. Overall I highly recommend The Knick and can’t wait to be back again!
