About The Huan
Located in the Xitun District near Feng Chia Night Market, The Huan is a luxury boutique accommodation ideal for short and long-term stays.
This Taichung hotel combines comfort with style, and features a restaurant, fitness center, outdoor sky pool, spa with sauna and steam rooms, and business center.
The building is split into two sections. Standard guestrooms occupy the lower floors while the upper levels house residential units, which are available for rent on a monthly basis. Its cozy and intimate atmosphere not only makes it popular amongst couples, its homey vibes are also ideal for those looking to stay in Taichung for an extended period.
Getting Here
By car, The Huan is approximately
- 10 minutes away from HSR Taichung Station
- 20 minutes away from Taichung Train Station
- 25 minutes from Taichung International Airport
My boyfriend and I arrived in Taichung via high speed rail from Kaohsiung. We took an Uber and our fare came to NT$282 (roughly $9 USD/$12 CAD).
Check-In
As mentioned above, check-in begins at 4:00PM. Like any other hotel, early check-in is never guaranteed and depends on the availability of your room.
Deluxe Room with Kitchen
I had the pleasure of working with The Huan as media. That said, my boyfriend and I spent two nights on the residential level in a Deluxe Room with Kitchen. (Again, residential rooms are typically rented out month by month.)
This 462-square-foot unit consists of a living space, kitchen, bedroom, ensuite bathroom, and small balcony. In a way, it does constitute as a suite, and is very roomy.
What sets it apart from regular guestrooms, however, is its kitchen. It is a full kitchen equipped with a fridge, oven, and washing/drying machine. You of course have to buy detergents separately, but being able to cook your own meals and do laundry whenever you like is perhaps one of the biggest luxuries when travelling. Another reason why The Huan is ideal for expats and digital nomads!

Cons
My boyfriend and I had a pleasant stay and do not have any major complaints. If I really have to nitpick, it would be that the toiletries are a little lacking considering that this is a five-star property. However, we did stay for two nights instead of the usual one month (or more). Under normal circumstances, I imagine that you would purchase your own soap and shampoo.
Regardless, The Huan is, without a doubt, one of the top 10 luxury hotels in Taichung. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, and I hope that this review will inspire you to explore Taichung with them. Check here for availability and book your stay today!
