Le Capitole Hôtel is a newly reimagined five-star property situated in the heart of Old Quebec City.
It houses 108 rooms, suites, and penthouses as well as a beautifully restored, 120-year-old beaux-arts performance venue, Théâtre Capitole.
Not only does it combine history with modern luxury, it is an entertainment hub equipped with outstanding bar, restaurants, and pool facilities.
Le Capitole Hôtel is a short 20-minute drive from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport. It is easily accessible via taxi or Uber. Alternatively, they offer valet services if you plan to rent a car.
As stated above, check-in begins at 4:00PM, which is fairly standard.
I arrived at 11:00AM and was granted an early check-in since my room was ready.
As with any hotel, early check-ins are never guaranteed. However, the staff will do their best to accommodate your request.
Citadine Suite with King Bed, Old Quebec View
During my time in Quebec, I had the pleasure of spending two nights in the Citadine Suite.
The Citadine Suite features a king size bed, spacious living space, balcony area, and stunning views of Old Quebec.
What’s great about this suite is that there are two three-quarter baths both equipped with a sink(s), toilet, and shower with shower head and rain shower options. (No more fighting for the bathroom with your travel companion!)
Did I also mention that there is a gorgeous freestanding bathtub that allows you to admire the spectacles of the city!?
Ristorante Il Teatro
Breakfast is complimentary and takes place at Ristorante Il Teatro on the second floor.
You are free to choose one dish of your liking and coffee is included. Any other sides or drinks you order from the menu will incur additional fees.
The Casolette with potatoes, sausage, bacon, egg, cheese, and Hollandaise sauce served with toast.
The Garnished Croissant.
BŌ Cuisine d’Asie
As its name suggests, BŌ Cuisine d’Asie specializes in Asian cuisine. Each dish is inspired by flavours from the east and made using fresh local ingredients.

My friend and I each had the four-course immersion menu, which included dim sum, soup, main course, and dessert.

I personally had such a phenomenal time at Le Capitole Hôtel that I honestly have no negative feedback whatsoever.
If I really have to nitpick, it is that there was construction across the street, which obstructed the views a little. However, this obviously isn’t something that the hotel can control.
My stay was incredible nonetheless and this truly is one of the best hotels in Quebec City.

What a lovely looking property. I wish I had known about this one when I visited Quebec, I had so many problems finding accommodation. Not sure I’d fit in that bathtub though, lol. joking aside, saving this post because I might have to go to Quebec next year, fingers crossed!
The tub is super spacious so I’m sure you’d fit! I hope you get around to revisiting next year. You’d love this hotel 😉
My goodness, what an exquisite hotel! I love that there was more than one bathroom and the free-standing tub in the room is so luxurious. Looks like an amazing stay so I can understand why it was hard for you to find any cons.
I honestly have nothing but AMAZING things to say about this property!
We have visited Quebec City a few times and have stayed in different spots – but nothing that would draw us back. So it was good to check out your comments on Le Capitole Hotel. I love a hotel like this located in the old city. So easy to walk everywhere then. The views of Old Quebec from this hotel are a perfect way to get in the feel of this city. Especially from a tub with bubbly! Great food would add the finishing touch for us.
Well now you finally have a reason to revisit! The location, the food, and the overall quality of my stay was absolutely incredible – to say the least. I hope you get to experience it if you do make it back!
You had me at 5 star property. I love QC, and tend to seek out boutique hotels, so was eager to read your review. I love the views, the spaciousness of the suite and the free standing tub. The restaurants and bar would be exactly what I would want to try too. I’ll keep this hotel in mind for my next trip.
Yay! Let me know how you like it if and when you do visit!!!
Even from the pictures and your experience staying at Le Capitole, I could say there’s no con on staying at this hotel. Such a luxury stay and I found the bathtub by the window is a smart idea. The views from the hotel are also amazing.
Right!? It’s almost a little too dangerous because you become so preoccupied with soaking (pun intended) up those views that you don’t notice you’re turning into a prune XDD
