About the Hotel
JW Marriott Parq Vancouver is one of two luxury hotels in Parq Vancouver, which is a premier entertainment destination that recently opened in 2017. In addition to these two hotels, Parq consists of a 72,000 square-foot casino, an outdoor park, world-class restaurants and bars, a spa, a salon as well as an aqua lounge just to name a few.
The hotel itself accommodates 281 rooms + 48 suites and is conveniently located by Yaletown and Gastown – two of Vancouver’s best neighborhoods for foodie adventures. If you are looking to attend a Canucks game or a concert/show, this makes for the perfect stay too as it is literally steps to Rogers Arena and BC Place.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in begins at 4pm, which is a tad later than most hotel’s 3pm policy, but is still considered fairly standard. For a staycation, there is no rush of course. You can even arrive a little earlier and relax at the Executive Lounge*. If, however, you are visiting from out of country and wish to explore Vancouver, I recommend storing your luggage here first to maximize time.
Despite not being given an early check-in, I did request for a later check-out at 1pm that was granted at no additional cost.
*Executive Lounge access is only available to guests who are Marriott Bonvoy members.
1 Bedroom Executive Suite
All 1 Bedroom Executive Suites are situated on upper floors and have expansive views of Vancouver’s city skyline and waterfront scenery. Each suite features a cozy bedroom with one king-size bed and a separate living area with sofa, coffee table with chairs, and dining room table for meals. On top of that, there are two bathrooms: one half and one full ensuite with a bath tub. The overall layout felt very homey and practical. In fact, I almost forgot I was staying at a hotel!
Warm welcome note and delightful treats from Amy. Thank you!
Executive Lounge
Again, guests who are Marriott Bonoy members are given exclusive access to JW Marriott Executive Lounge. From breakfast to all-day snacks, the lounge is constantly stocked with delicious goodies. I especially loved that the staff were encouraging guests to take food back to their rooms. Certain hotels limit consumption to within the lounge only, but you know how staycations can get. Sometimes you just wanna snack on a cookie or pretzel while watching TV in bed.
Honey Salt
Honey Salt is a neighborhood restaurant serving up farm to table cuisine with locally and regionally sourced ingredients. I had the pleasure of dining here for dinner and the food was absolutely delightful. A couple of my favorites were the Garlic Shrimp, Organic Squash Risotto, Diver Scallops, and Society Chocolate & Bannaa Cake.
Garlic Shrimp left; Grandma Rosie’s Turkey Meatballs right.
They also offer a special weekend brunch menu as well as weekend afternoon tea that I’m for sure coming back for in the future. Extraordinary service with phenomenal food. Definitely not to be missed!
Spa & Fitness
While I unfortunately did not get to experience Spa by JW, I did take a dip in the heated whirlpool.
As for the fitness side of things… From cardio to weights, JW’s Fitness Center has everything you could possibly think of. There are more than one of the same machine too so you don’t have to wait in line for someone else to finish their sets. Definitely the best hotel gym I have ever seen!

That’s such a gorgeous Executive Suite! I love the view from the ensuite bathroom and am sure it’ll be a super relaxing bath after a long day of discovering the city. The heated whirlpool looks amazing as well. This hotel is really an ideal place for a relaxing weekend getaway 🙂
It’s perfect and I’m sure you’d love it, Fiona! Any plans to visit Vancouver soon? 😉
Very posh, as most Marriotts. I love the minimal design of the interiors and the great view. Four o’clock is a tad late for check in time though.
I agree and was bummed out that they couldn’t provide an earlier check-in either. However, I did notice there was a conference going on the same time I was there. Perhaps that’s why and who knows! Maybe early check-in is available on other days 🙂
These rooms are comparable to some high quality lakeside Chicago apartments I’ve seen. Everything looks so polished from the furniture to the bathtubs. Even an outdoor whirlpool and a fitness center, wow, this really looks like it could sell as an apartment complex. I know if there was an apartment this nice, I’d like to live there if I could afford it. If I ever venture off to Vancouver, I’ll remember to look for Marriott rooms.
Omg yes! It definitely felt super homey and I can see my future apartment looking something like this. Happy to hear I could put this on your radar and feel free to reach out if you ever need any other tips for that future visit!
I love the idea of a staycation and treating yourself to a luxury experience like this! The hotel looks absolutely incredible. I would love to have a soak in that cool bathtub and a dip in the rooftop whirlpool. The farm to table found sounds delicious as well! I bet you had a lovely, relaxing stay there.
Oh I sure did and almost didn’t even want to leave! If you ever find yourself in Vancouver, you’ll definitely have to look into booking a stay here 😀
I’m always thinking I need to run off somewhere to get a break, but you’re right that a staycation is sometimes exactly the break we need. With Parq Vancouver’s luxury, it looks like a fabulous option! Anywhere with warm cookies has my vote!
Yes to warm cookies! And I’m totally the same too, but sometimes a staycation is just as nice as a vacation abroad!
Wow JW Marriott Parq Hotel is having lovely interiors and exteriors. The 1 bedroom executive suite looks spacious and luxurious. The food dishes look extremely yummy and delicious. I really like the personal caring message postcard, it shows how much they care about their customers. I would love to have such a staycation experience in my local city.
This is my second time staying at a JW property and they really don’t disappoint. Are there any similar staycation destinations in your hometown?
Looks like such a luxurious place to stay. I love that bathtub with the amazing views across the city, that would be an awesome place to relax. The food looks great here too. Sounds like the hotel was a great find.
Isn’t that bathtub view just stellar!? I couldn’t take my eyes off of it and soaked until I was a soggy grape hahahaa. Great find for sure!
Every now and then indulging in a luxurious staycation such as this one is the perfect way to treat yourself. We had experienced a similar staycation at JW Mariott on Marco Island and it was an amazing experience. The Executive Lounge is absolutely fabulous and those cookies look scrumptious! I can completely understand how staying in that spacious suite must have given almost a homelike feel – it’s not that often that we come across hotels that can offer such comfort and ambiance. Very helpful review.
Ahh no way! Marco Island looks beautiful and I bet your stay was just as amazing as mine! Hope this inspires you to come visit us here in Vancouver sometime 😉
