About the Hotel

Delicacy is a fairly new hotel that has only just recently opened in the bustling Dinh Ngang area. There are a total of 28 rooms and each and every suite has a sophisticated, neoclasical design.

Its location makes it an easy walk to majority of Hanoi’s top attraction sights. In fact, the famous train street is actually located right behind it! Below are approximate walking times:

  • 10 minutes to St. Joseph’s Cathedral
  • 10 minutes to Temple of Literature & Hoan Kiem Lake
  • 10 to 15 minutes to Old Quarter
  • 15 minutes to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
  • 15 minutes to Thang Long Water Puppet Theater

If you like being in the center of all the action, the hotel is set to open a new location right in the heart of Old Quarter Hanoi so stay tuned!

Check-In

Upon checking in, guests are welcomed with Delicacy’s famous mocktail juices that are hand-mixed right in front of you.

The actual check-in process is fairly straightforward as well. (The usual passport check and room confirmation.) Aside from that, the front desk concierge also provides recommendations on things to do around the area based on each guest’s interests and preferences. Me, for example, I’m a blogger. In one of my previous posts, I wrote about Instagrammable places in LA and I obviously love food a little too much. (Always on that seefood diet ya know what I’m sayin’?) Mie, one of the hotel staff, kindly suggested we check out nearby cafés like De.TẦM and Xofa Café & Bistro. I found this personal touch really helpful. After all, it’s one thing to research about a place before visiting it, but another to dig beneath the surface and discover local hidden gems!

Deli Suite

Again, we spent three nights in their Deli Suite, which features one double king size bed as well as a French balcony overlooking Hanoi’s street scene. (The double bed was sooooo amazingly soft. I slept like a baby!)

Delicacy Hotel & Spa Delicacy Hotel & SpaAnother thing I love about Delicacy is that you can request for different pillows if the ones in-room don’t suit your needs. As someone who has been in a serious car accident in the past and now suffers neck pains every now and then, this is extremely important to me. Two thumbs up!

Breakfast

Breakfast is included and runs every morning from 6:30am to 10:00am at the Chestnut Restaurant. It is buffet style. However, you can also order from their à la carte menu at no additional charges. Whether you like savoury or sweet, Western or Asian breakfasts, they have something for everyone.

If you are catching an early flight or a tour before breakfast starts, they are also able to pack fruits and sandwiches to go.

Deli Spa

Delicacy Hotel & Spa

As the name suggests, Delicacy Hotel & Spa is a hotel with a spa. Located on the second floor is their Deli Spa and there is no better way to end a long day of adventures than with a relaxing spa session.

My friend and I both tried their body massage. (Hot Stone Massage for me and Himalayan Salt Stone Treatment for Lily.) This being my first “hot” massage, I absolutely loved the heated stone technique. It left me feeling rejuvenated and relieved of my muscle tensions. Definitely worth checking out and you can find their complete spa menu here.

Deli Sky Bar

Situated on the 9th floor is the Deli Sky Bar. Open daily from 9am to 12am midnight, you can come enjoy drinks with friends and take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Hanoi’s city skyline.

Final Verdict

Delicacy Hotel & Spa Delicacy Hotel & Spa

Amenities: ★★★☆☆ (spa, restaurant, and bar; no gym or pool)
Cleanliness: ★★★★★
Comfort: ★★★★★
Proximity: ★★★★★
Quietness: ★★★☆☆ (see cons section below)
Safety: ★★★★★
Space: ★★★★★
Value of Price: ★★★★★
Internet Access: Complimentary Wi-Fi
Airport Transfer: Available upon request; additional charges apply (see here)

Pros

  • Walking distance to major attractions. (The hotel staff also escort guests to nearby pharmacies, restaurants, or train stations – just to name a few – if guests are afraid of getting lost.)
  • Lots of cute cafés nearby
  • Environmentally friendly and has beautiful indoor plant walls that will not only brighten up your day, but are great for photo-taking
  • Extremely hospitable staff. (Most friendly and helpful team I have ever encountered.)
  • Unique drinks and funny bartender at Deli Sky Bar!

Cons

  • Can get a little noisy at night especially if your room is facing the streets. (Keep in mind, however, that this is inevitable when visiting a busy city.) Good news is, after my stay, I’ve been informed that Delicacy is actually installing better sound-proof windows so that will most certainly help.

Overall, my friend and I both really enjoyed our stay here. For the price, you really are getting top-notch services and I am not exaggerating when I say they have gone above and beyond in providing the best Hanoi stay for us. I would for sure return again and highly recommend booking with them for your Northern Vietnam trip.

Wow. This look exactly like a place for me. The inside looks clean and peaceful. I love the dark wood floor in the guest rooms. But, the façade is gorgeous. I love a stay where they take things to the personal level, and judging from your review, it looks like they did. Beautiful images.

I travel to Hanoi frequently for work so it’s great to know about this beautiful hotel! I really like the elegant and luxury black-themed decor in their suite. The Deli Sky Bar looks cool, too. I bet the view must be amazing. Can’t wait to check out this hotel next time I visit Hanoi!

Looks like a fantastic place to stay when in Hanoi, especially since it is so close to all the key attractions and the train street is just behind! I like that it is more of a boutique style of hotel only having 28 rooms, so it is more intimate and sophisticated. The design of the room is gorgeous and looks delightful – I love the neoclassical style. Shame they don’t have a pool, but that’s ok since there’s so much to explore in Hanoi alone.

Mhmm! That’s one of the main things I love about staying at boutique hotels. It’s a much more personalized experience and like you said, intimate. And I do agree that while it’s a bummer they don’t have a pool, there’s enough in the area to keep you busy!

Wow, such beautiful place to stay. Your pictures say it all. I am a budget to med traveler but love to splurge once in a while. Delicacy appears to be taking care of everything, showcasing comfort and luxury both. Thanks for sharing.

This looks like a wonderful place to stay! I love the architecture from the outside, and the inside looks beautiful too. I agree that it is difficult to find a “quiet” place in the city, so that wouldn’t affect my willingness to stay here! It sounds like its in the perfect location to major attractions in the city.

I love such boutique styled properties with fewer rooms and intricate designs. It looks so sophisticated and classy. I would love to spend 2 days in this hotel while I explore Hanoi. As I can read from your blog, this hotel is close to all the major attractions in Hanoi, hence this would be the best choice for me. I also must add, you have taken few mind-blowing pictures, dear.

Wow, quite fancy! Judging by the small number of rooms and the luxury I see, Delicacy sounds like a boutique style hotel. Interestingly enough though, it doesn’t seem small. On the contrary, it has quite a grandiose entrance and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. I’d love to stay here if I ever visit Hanoi.

What a classy, elegant place to stay in. I can definitely imagine looking forward to coming back here after a day of sight seeing. And that spa massage would help too 🙂 To top it all off , the location seems to be perfect, within walking distance to some sights. This goes on my list of places to stay in Hanoi.
